Magazine Design+ Production: Verve
The Project
I was tasked with conceptualizing, designing, and producing a magazine sample for my Magazine Design Technology class at Cal Poly. I designed a women’s outdoor sports magazine portrayed through a pop culture lens that placed women’s sports in the mainstream media. My goal was to spark conversation about how social media, current events, and technology have influenced female sports. We conducted multiple in-depth reviews of the concept, copy, and layout.

The Cover
The cover features famous roller skater Oumi Janta because she embodies the young energy and creative spirit of my target audience. As an influencer, model, and athlete, she has inspired a newfound appreciation for jam skating among young people as well as the sport’s social and cultural history.
