The Client
Emerald Birthwork provides emotional, mental, and physical support during a mother’s prenatal, birth, and postpartum stages. The owner, Britton, uses a trauma-informed approach to offer a range of doula services ranging from breathwork and massage therapy during labor to post-birth placenta encapsulation.
Emerald Birthwork’s mission is to support and empower women to trust their intuition and decision-making abilities during their birth experiences. With this mission in mind, Britton aims to instill confidence in budding mothers to advocate for themselves in pregnancy and motherhood.
MOODBOARD
Collaborating closely with my client, I created a mood board to direct their overall brand aesthetic based on the emotions they wanted their brand to evoke. I included color palettes, font pairings, and photography styles that evoked feelings of warmth, acceptance, peace, gentleness, and empowerment with a healthy mix of coolness. One of their brand goals was to break doula services out of the “granola”, exclusive stereotype and appeal to larger groups of modern women. So, I made sure to add a few fun and trendy elements to reflect that goal.
